ABOUT THE BOOK

Delayed Departure is historically based fiction. It is an action packed adventure with actual history weaved into the plot. The twists andturns in this book will keep your attention and deliver an inability to resist continued reading, you won’t want to put it down until you finish it.

The Promise is a continuation of Delayed Departure, using some of the same characters but is not necessarily historical-based fiction. It has twists and turns just like, but different than Delayed Departure.

The Curse is the third and final book in the series of Delayed Departure and The Promise. Some of the characters are similar since they carry over from the other two books. It also contains several twists.

Nothin’ But Try, The Shane Drury Story is totally different from the other three books. It is a biography of the life of a rodeo cowboy, (my son, Shane Drury). He was a professional bull rider who was at one point in his career the number one bull rider in the PRCA standings. Shane was a qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo in the year 2000.

Just as his career was in its peak, he was diagnosed with cancer and had to give up his bull riding career. Shane succumbed to the disease in the year 2006. He never gave up his love for the sport and went to several rodeo camps and gave speeches to the up-and-coming cowboys in attendance.

Nothin’ But Try, The Shane Drury Story mirrors the life of this courageous cowboy from his very first ride at the age of 10 through the peak of his bull riding career and up to his ultimate demise. The book contains several pictures and comments from Shane’s friends. You will need a box of Kleenex to read this fascinating story.
